Jammin' at The Masquerade!

A RARE moment in time! When a proffesional piano musician visits at The Masquerade - we unbury the piano that has been covered in quilts and quilting supplies for 30 years, and this is what we get! Big thanks to John Moore on piano, and Jim Viau on harp! Back story - Jim used to jam with the original owner of this piano 40 years ago. The original owner called us in a panic 32 years ago and said...

Quarter inch foot tip
Переглядів 2054 місяці тому
Getting used to your 1/4" foot can be easy if you do a lot of paper piecing Quiltworx patterns. They provide a seam allowance line - so you can see exactly where your 1/4" falls on each particular foot! Then when you need to piece something without paper - with an exact 1/4" seam - you'll be confident with your machine's 1/4" foot.

The Fun Project Series is back! Project #35 is all about making 2 different folded ornaments. They can be done with paper and glue - or with fabric and sewing. You will need some fabric fuse to put 2 different fabrics together, a fabric glue pen and something to sew with (either by machine or by hand). The snowflake can be hung like an ornament - or put on the top of a small tree. Have fun!

Thank you so much for uploading this. Your video was the only one that helped me figure my darn machine out.
THANK U SO MUCH I LOVE THE BUNNY
Love this pattern...thank you!
Such an important lesson... TY so much for making sense to this!
Awesome
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you create this awesome and wonderful pillowcase, using old ties that mean something to you.nice project and great inspiration too
You make great tutorials. Clear, precise, and easy to see and understand. Thank you. 😊
Such a clear instruction..no waffling like some of them do. I will be making my own pincushion
love this, but could i sew the arms and legs so the seams are enclosed in the body and not on the out side, if that makes any sence,
Sure! They just wouldn't be able to move or change positions.
@@TheMasqueradeI never thought of that, thank you
Best video by far! Thanks!
Tengo una maquina igual y me corta el hilo de arriba a la primer puntada, que puede ser?
Brilliantly
I commented the other day that I was in the throes of replacing the belt on my grandmother's machine. I said I would update as to my progress. All is well. I was able to replace the belt, oiled the machine and I was sewing in no time. Thank you again for your guidance!!!
Thanks for the update! Glad it all worked out!
Cool
Great idea easy to do wonder how many friends would like one for xmas
Lindo trabalho ,amei.😊
Excellent instructions! I have all my tools together and will proceed to install my new belt. Thank you for being so concise and clear as to the process. I'll message again once I've completed this and let you know how it went!!!
I actually have a singer 99. I believe it’s like 1957 model and has the same same rocket lander I found it if you push in on the lens and turn it to the right the glass cover will come out the actual lens. I’m just watching your video now to figure out where and how to put the leaf spring back in.Got it! Thank for the video! New subbie!
Where can I find a bobbin?
I find many of my parts on Ebay, or by doing a search on Google. There are small differences in the bobbin shuttle with each model machine. If you try to use the wrong one it won't work. So make sure you do your search with the correct make, model and year of your machine! If your machine is a Singer, you can find the correct make/model/yr of your machine by looking at the serial number chart on ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-sewing-machine-serial-number-database.html Good luck!
My bullet bobbin is stuck... any tips to get it out?
Oh never mind i got it😅 i just needed to push it other side and get my finger underneath and voilà✨
Is it the bobbin that is stuck in the shuttle - or the shuttle that is stuck in the machine?
@@TheMasquerade i think it was the bobbin and there was yarn wrapped around shuttle so that didn't help. I bought this yesterday from a thrift shop and i'm in a progress of trying to figure out everything and get on with it.
I was intimidated by a VS.. some show winding the bobbin and I was confused which way to wind..: I do it your method… I hold thread in front of hole and put bobbin in.. basically like yours… so easy!!!! Thanks for your video!
Thanks for showing this. It was helpful. I couldn't get the glass out of the light.
You're welcome! I had a problem at first, too - then looked for a video. When I didn't find one, I knew I would have to make one after I finally figured it out! LOL
Superb video. Concise, to the point(s) with excellent camera work. Thank you.
Thank, this is so helpful
I like this bag. But I can't get the zipper pull on like you did. I tried a full day with 2 zippers. Just couldn't get it to go on. I have a neighbour that sews too and she said she never could succeed on this either. But I LOVE the idea. 🤓
Yes, sometimes it is very difficult!
The music is way too loud
Sorry. You're not the only one who thinks so. At least 100 other people have said so over the last 8 years. I can't do anything about that on my end now that it's already uploaded. So my only suggestion is turn down your volume. You don't have to listen to anything I may have said after the music begins - if I even said anything at all - because the steps are all repeated over and over and over and over again. As a matter of fact, I think I stopped talking. That's why I filled the dead air with music.
I love your binding video!cOne of the best ever! TYSM ❤❤❤
My little sister has wanted me to make this folded star block for her for years. My mom made me one.
Great tutorial!
Excellent video-I have never watched your videos before!🎉
Clear, concise, great camera angles....everything went smooth on my end THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!
4:12 - 4:20 is where im still confused on what you did after it scoops up the thread
Cute Grandkids. Love the quilt
You described this better than any I've seen. I still can't get the bobbin to seat. It simply won't fit. Are there different types? I bought and antique shuttle for a 27 vs2. Which is what I believe my machine is. Do I need to do something to the machine part that holds the bobbin? I would love some help if you can
The year and the model all make a difference- as they changed up the shuttle and bobbin over the first few years. There are different length bobbins that have to have the exact shuttle - or it won't fit. If your shuttle is a different year than the machine, it might be too long and not fit either. Look up your serial number on ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-sewing-machine-serial-number-database.html
Nicely done you explained and demonstrated very well. Thank you
Gracias por compartir tu proyecto desde Colombia manos creativas bendecida
Sorry I missed it!! Awesome duo!!
😍😍😍😍😍I love it!!! Thank you so much
How fun!! Thanks for sharing!
Very cool!!
Very cool. What fun!!!
Thank you, excellent tutorial. 🥰
Thanks for the video! You answered all my questions!
No matter how you sew it...excellent job!
Ah, now I see how the thread goes in the bullet. Many thanks for the explanation. I was watching your video and "visualized" a woman from that time, using such a complicated tool. All my admiration to them and Isaac Singer.
can you use universal needles with this machine? I just got the machine. I'm still cleaning on it. I did plug it in yesterday. The light went on but didn't run. The electrical needs check.
Yes, you can use universal 15x1 needles on the Singer model VS2 machine. They didn't make this machine electric - so you may have a different machine.
@TheMasquerade yes it is different but really similar in some ways. Thank you for your reply.
Beautiful explanation. Thank you so much!!!
Very nice video. Well done.
What is the length of each? I see the term long - what is that in inches or mm? Please let me know. Thanks.
Each model machine can vary by millimeters - some by a 1/4". The bobbin length for the Singer VS2 model is 1 5/16". The shuttle length is 1 15/16".
This is honestly the best tutorial i have found after searching through many videos for this machine, it is well explained in detail and i even loved the laugh. It felt like i was being properly taught how to use a Singer
